Biography

As a scientist, Jong Cheol Jeong believes that scientific and technical knowledge should be used in the service of humanity and consequently enhances the quality of human life. Particularly, health care is conventionally regarded as an important determinant in promoting the general health and well-being of people around the world. In this respect, Jong Cheol Jeong’s research is focused on the development and application of methods to facilitate collaboration between fundamental sciences and clinical practice by retrieving, analyzing, and integrating a wide range of biomedical information derived from different scales and types of data produced by utilizing state of the art technologies. His current research has two distinctive goals: i) building a systematic model that can answer the cause and progress of diseases by integrating publicly available large scale genomic and clinical data and relatively small but highly accurate private data, and ii) implementing AI-based decision-making system that can help to diagnose early stage diseases and personalized treatment of patients.
