Abstract

Precision medicine, which aims at identification of the right treatment to the right patient at the right time, has attracted lots of interests in various fields. Although many existing works define the "right patient" based on his/her genetic profile, the phenotypical and environmental information can also help us better understand the condition of the patient. In this talk, I will introduce similarity analytics, which is a computational tool for identification of the similarity between pairwise data objects, and its applications in precision medicine. Specifically, I will introduce 1) static and longitudinal patient similarity evaluation and its applications in risk prediction and disease subtyping; 2) integrated patient and drug similarity analytics for precision treatment recommendation.
